Perhaps one of the first things that someone would notice upon entering my bathroom is the minimalism of my beauty products when compared to others, especially most girls who have bathrooms packed with various products. But, I’m not really a typical girl and it’s just something that I don’t really care about. Sure, I like nice smelling things but when it comes to shelling out large amounts of money for them, well, I don’t like them so much.
Here’s my basic “beauty” routine, although beauty routine might be a bit of an overstatement and I should maybe call it my keeping clean routine.
1. I buy large packs of basic soap: Ivory or Dove usually. Whatever is on sale. I use it for basic hand-washing, body-washing when in the shower and also for shaving my legs, etc. It’s far cheaper than liquid soap, body wash or shaving cream.
2. For facewash, I use Cetaphil. Basic and cheap.
3. For my hair, I’ll buy a jumbo bottle of shampoo, whatever is on sale at the store. It will last me for most of the year.
4. Toothpaste is my one “splurge.” The stuff here in Korea is sadly lacking, so I’ll usually stock up on some Crest toothpaste when on vacation in other countries. And I buy 2 or 3 bottles of Listerine Mouthwash when it’s on sale at the store.
